I'm continuing to clean out stuff from my stash and finding some things that others might like to have. So...... yet another contest to determine this time the weiner of a p*ck guard variety pack. Since basically there is no such thing as a p*ck guard variety pack... I've put two together. Each one contains a couple black, one tortisish, and one clear. I'll save the second pack for a different contest.

This contest is open to folks with ten finished guitars or less and less also includes none-to-date. US entrants only please to save me some effort and cash since I cover shipping too.

Be the very first one in your neighborhood.... (this forum....) to answer the following questions, all of them...., correctly and you are the weiner of a p*ck guard variety pack. BTW some of these are from Guitarmakers Connection and some from sponsors of the OLF.

This quiz's subject matter fretting.

QUESTION 1) Some makers very slightly bevel the top of their fret slots because?

a) Less chance of chipping when removing frets someday
b) Some fret wire is not as clean in the transition from the tang to the underside of the fret preventing full seating of the fret
c) Both a and b

QUESTION 2) Stainless wire is?

a) Harder and will likely last longer
b) Harder on some tools and can damage them at times
c) Good for folks who wear out wire fast
d) Not appreciated by everyone tonally
e) All of the above

QUESTION 3) "Fall-away" refers to?

a) What happens from too much beer while fretting....
b) gradual reduction of the height between the strings and the frets typically, but not always...., starting around the 12th fret and continuing onto the body/extension
c) The angle of the headstock

QUESTION 4) Diamond fret files are preferred by some because?

a) They work in both directions
b) Less chattering, fewer scratches, less stinkin sanding
c) Both a and b

QUESTION 5) Glue may be used in the fret slots to?

a) Lubricate the slot for the fret tang
b) Hold the frets more firmly
c) Both a and b

QUESTION 6) Which of the following does not make fret wire

a) Jescar
b) Dunlap
c) Goodyear

Thanks and good luck to all!

It took John six minutes to be the weiner of this contest!!! Congrats John! I also hope the puppies are doing well? If you remember my pal Sony who I used to post pics of here he died about three months ago and I miss him terribly.... But he was 11.5 years old, very fat, very happy and it was time.

Congrats John and please PM me your shipping information? [clap] [clap] [clap]
